We have made extensive investments in our site in order to be able to produce efficiently and sustainably in the long term. These investments make Baltic Timber one of the largest sawmill sites in Northern Europe. Our future production capacity includes an existing high-performance sorting plant, a completely new sawmill with a cutting capacity of over 1.0 million cubic meters per year and a new planing mill. In addition, pellets are produced from the waste wood from the planing mill and the sawmill.

Our state-of-the-art lumber drying plants ensure the quality of our products and increase our vertical integration. A biomass cogeneration plant uses the waste heat from the drying process to heat our new buildings via a low-temperature underfloor heating system.

With a forest cover of almost 40%, Latvia offers ideal conditions for our production. Our plant in Inčukalns is located in the middle of huge deposits of high-quality coniferous wood, primarily spruce and pine. The quality of the raw material is unique: in hardly any other region does spruce wood have such a high bulk density as here. The fine annual rings and small knot sizes of the Baltic round timber offer excellent conditions for high-quality structural and surface-finished wood products.
